Steven is Arden's uncle on his father's side, younger than his brother Jacob. Steven began dealing drugs (primarily marijuana) when he was 17. He is now 35 and has expanded his empire to include other drugs such as acid and crack cocaine. He has numerous pushers and dealers working for him, most are high school age. Steven is an intellectual. Though he did not go to college, he reads extensively and snippets of the works he favors creep into his ordinary conversation. Steven excelled in English in high school and planned to be a journalist, but his drug career soon derailed his ambitions as he found he could make a fine living from dealing. Steven has always cared for his Arden, making time for him even when he was a small child. He enjoyed being someone's idol. Naturally, Arden became interested in every aspect of his uncle’s life, and Steven was willing to share all of it. Steven watches out for Arden when he is on the street, much more so than his other dealers, and Arden generally does not know he is there.
