Bird in a Glass House needs supporting cast
Producer John Foutz is holding auditions for “Bird in a Glass
House,” a feature he plans to shoot in 24p video starting in mid-October.
The script by Hannah Dennis is about an 18 year-old drug dealer who
wants to break free of street life, become an architect, and marry his
girlfriend. A plot synopsis says he must fight “his own emotions,
the haunting memories of his past, his resentment of his father, the
violence of former buyers, and the involvement of his own family in
drug traffic.” Dennis will direct.
Foutz is casing the role of the girlfriend (a dancer), roles for others
who can pass for 18, roles for people from their 20s through their 40s,
and extras. He plans to take the film to festivals in search of a distribution
deal, and the jobs do not pay. (His budget buys equipment and catering.)
Auditions run Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon at Stanly County Agri-Civic Center
and 1 to 4 p.m. in room 201 of Pfeiffer University’s Stokes Student
Center. The Agri-Civic Center, a 1500-seat auditorium, is at 26032-B
Newt Road (N.C. 24/27) in Albemarle. Pfeiffer University is at 48380
U.S. 52 North in Misenheimer.
No headshots are required. Cold readings in character and interviews
out of character will be held, and auditions will be recorded. For details,
